ERCAKICA: “PRESIDENT TALAT IS FOLLOWING THE WAR IN MIDDLE EAST WITH CONCERN AND HORROR”

Presidential Spokesman Hasan Ercakica stated that President Mehmet Ali Talat has condemned the excessive use of force by Israel in Gaza Strip calling on Israel and Hamas to respond positively to a call issued by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for an immediate ceasefire.

Stating that President Talat was following the war and the possible developments it could lead with concern and horror Ercakica said the President has underlined the need for states and leaders that can have an influence on the issue to take initiatives for a ceasefire between the two sides.
